Probable Cause
DTSB: Pending. Very low IMC departure from runway 16 on an IFR flight plan, followed by a gear up descending impact immediately after takeoff. Witnesses heard engine problem and puff of smoke as aircraft turned left towards an open area and impacted just short of the open area. The left side of the cockpit impacted a utility pole directly across from 716 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA.
