Probable Cause
DTSB: The DTSB determines the Probable cause of this accident to be Pilot Error, in that the pilot allowed two passengers in this post avionics install maintenance test flight. After takeoff, the left engine suffered a loss of thrust and the pilot did not provide the proper control inputs, and the aircraft rolled let and impacted a sand and gravel pit.

Recommendation
DTSB: The DTSB recommends at all pilot s of all multi-engine aircraft become familiar with and condition themselves to respond quickly and properly during this AQP scenario. Lower the nose, raise the gear. Climb at DMMS (Vyse) Wings level. Identify, Verify, Feather. Do not turn into the dead engine. Climb wings level to at least 1000 AGL and return to the field after level flight is attained and all checklists are complete. Do not turn into he dead engine at any time.
